Yes, I am watching one go up on my way to work. Box members (2" x 8") galvanized. Bolted together into a rigid, hurrican resistant box. I am not sure what the walls will be, but I'll report as they go up.
Henry Kaiser's company put up some steel houses 50 years ago in Hawaii Kai, his development. Kaiser Steel I guess. Unfortunately, he also used aluminum wiring and they were available very cheaply. But they are still out there.
We have champion termites -- Formosan ground termites (strange the Taiwanese don't demand proper recognition on these). Big guys. Tough as hell. Every hatch drives my collie wild. He eats them by the gross. Herds them together and gobbles them up.
The real problem are the tiny dry wood-termites who hollow out everything and suddenly there's nothing left to hold up the house.
