There has been a lot of analysis on pros and cons about AOL-Hugh's
deal. I understand that the current TV spectrum may not provide a high-band one-to-one
channels between the client and the servers as one can achieve through a wireline (cable or DSL). But there are three areas where this deal will make AOL a true winner:
1) Business customers with mobility (AOL anywhere)
2) More than 40% of the US mass has not cable access or (cost effective cable infrastructure) in place which AOL can serve well.
3) International market (especially developing and some developed countries) where AOL will have a better chance than T.

On top that in future the notion of a single pipe providing all communications services will become a reality but that will not
be sufficient. There will be at least one additional traditional phone (line) in each home for emergency and reliability.
