Dave,

This is HUGE.

Maybe now we can put to rest all those critics who say that DR DRAM won't make any difference. Dell I hope your new workstation blows the doors off the benchmarks.

But the one question that no critic has ever been able to answer.

"Why is it that all these companies are licensing Rambus?"

All these companies have competent engineers. If the technology didn't work then why would they bother licensing the technology? Did they all get dumb at the same time? I doubt it.

Jim

Dave,

Forgive me if I am wrong, but isn't "D"RDRAM the next generation DRAM Intel is talking about. The first generation Rambus DRAM was called RDRAM, the second generation Rambus DRAM is DRDRAM, right? And it currently sports data transfer rates of 1.6 MHz?

That could just be an old Intel page, BWDIK? (No I didn't sell <gg>)

MileHigh

"NDRAM. Intel and Rambus are expected to come up with a faster version of Rambus to be named NDRAM (Next generation DRAM), >that will support data transfer speeds at up to 1,600MHz."
