>>EA Dreamcast Secret?
Dreamcast: According to sources close to Sega, Electronic Arts is secretly developing games for Dreamcast, despite an official "wait and see policy" on the platform. "They're developing games for Dreamcast, they want their games on Dreamcast," claimed a Sega source. "EA is looking for a worldwide deal with Sega, to cover Japan, the US, Europe, Asia, everywhere. That's going to be very difficult to achieve." Our source claims the company is quietly creating Dreamcast versions of its sports franchises, while bigwigs negotiate for a better deal. A separate, highly placed industry source offered, "EA Canada has the kits. They're working on all major franchises - FIFA, Madden, NBA: they're really going for it." Meanwhile, EA is sticking to its official line that no decision has been made on Dreamcast. However, the firm may have learned lessons from its late entry into the N64 market, in which the domination of its sports titles was compromised by aggressive early-players such as Acclaim.<<
