Dave, I would say most people like SI, me included. Some don't just like the direction they may take with button ads.

And these ads are not high bandwidth.

I would hardly classify a "2kb button ad" as high bandwidth.

I believe we will see ads in the chat area. I don't believe Brad or Jeff said they never would put them here.

I think this dislike of ads goes back to the early days of chat, on BBS's and the Internet. There has to be an ad free zone somewhere.

Man we get TV commercials in our face every 10 min, buy a Magazine turn it upside down and shower the floor with ads for subscriptions. Where do you draw the line and when does it stop?

That's the problem. WHICH people.

If it were up to Brad and Jeff and Bob and Jill, I would agree.

But they are now under Go2Net. Do we know those people?

And now we have Paul Allen and his Microsoft money in the mix. Of course, that reassures me since we know how sensitive Microsoft is to giving its customers what they want rather than what Microsoft wants them to have.
