Peach, thanks so much for that Link to Starry Night and other Van Gogh paintings. Got it Bookmarked O Yes Indeed. Hope they wouldn't mind it being included in the Techride GALLERY Index.... It comes over the Internet so clear and beautiful, jumps right out of the screen atcha. Vincent would have LOVED computers and the internet, like a dream dontcha think? When I first got this computer hooked up online I was attached to it for a week straight of virtual all-nighters til my neighbor pulled my coat that my daughter had said she was mighty concerned about me lately, that I was obsessed. I mean, I Couldn't Get Enough!! I'll still often click on a link just to see it go all transparent for a moment....like losing enough time to make me wonder if I'd been, well you know, I get like sometimes.... Looks like you found the best inspirational frontispiece for the next addendum to The Techride Index with Starry Night, thanks. It's now so close to being possible to just scan a painting to a website that'll broadcast a full-on reproduction of it (I mean for folks like me who got 10 thumbs when it comes to puterly concoctions). The three widespread historical comparisons to these times when the internet is new are.... 1) The Gold Rush of 1849 (some say Alaska is more apropos) 2) The Industrial Revolution at the Turn of The Century 3) (my favorite) Florence at the Renaissance Two more comparisons I'd like to add are.... 4) The Impressionism segue to Cubism/Abstract Expressionism from the late 19th to the first half of this 20th Century 6) The 60's explosion of Pop, Op, Photorealism, Conceptual and Psychedelic Art combined with the Fusion of Rock/Soul/Jazz which paved the way for The "Geek" Meritocrats & The Birth Of The Internet. And I've Said It Before And I'll Say It Again....
