What is this crock of garbage AMD is spewing: "An 800-pound gorilla can sit anywhere they want to. They sat on Cyrix and squashed them and now they are trying to sit on us,'' AMD chairman and chief executive, W.J. (Jerry) Sanders III, told analysts on a conference call. ''Intel is being overly aggressive on prices where we compete.'' That's how losers talk. If I were an AMD shareholder, I would vote to fire that AMD arse chairman. The truth of the matter is that AMD makes a piss poor processor (just like Cyrix) for everything but common business applications. (Try using the floating point capabilities of an AMD processor for DVD software decoding. You can't. And budget PCs need to do software decoding.) AMD used an antiquated Socket 7 design for too long and that decision has cost you shareholders money and pain. The enemy isn't Intel. The enemy is within AMD, a company that hasn't made the right design and business decisions. But oh boy you just wait for the K7...yeah right.
