Perhaps Pete & Alan et al. are in the wrong business. In the last 10 months they bought 4 million shares under $10.00 & then unloaded 2 mm for $39.00 (or $37 and change w/ fees). If they wanted to buy them back right now they could lock in a 20 mm profit to go along w/ the profit they still have on the remaining 2 million of around 40 mm.
That is one hell of a return and to me just enhances the companies value.

Anyway, i would like to hire them to manage my portfolio. They are doing a lot better with this stock than i am. Time for bed. rod

CheckFree Sell-Off an Act of Sheer Lunacy

Bottom Line:

CheckFree is the undisputed market leader of
end-to-end electronic billing systems, and the
market's reaction to news of The Exchange's
inception was nothing more than groundless panic.
We see this as an attractive buying opportunity.
