Uncle Frank:

Thanx for your encouragement. I have alot of respect for you and the gang on this thread. Cordial, intelligent, mature.

Besides you, my other favorite unblooded Uncle is UncleWest, the flagbearer of the Rambus thread. He too seems to be mature, courteous and open to opinion. He is very Pro-Rambus, and his postings gave me the most impetus to buy. He knows more about the news on Rambus, from all corners, and the evolution of that news than anyone. Below is a sample...

let us not underestimate the power of this news. we now have confirmation from the premiere boxmaker "dell" that they will use rambus memory systems.
first we had the dram mfrs lining up one by one and announcing rambus rdram production. then we had all the big connector mfrs announcing rambus products. in there we had intel who makes 83% of the world's chipsets announcing they will only support rambus memory. many thought rambus would only be in high end, then intel announced timna a low end chipset only supporting rambus memory to be released next year. in the past few weeks intel, sony, toshiba, samsung, nec, hyundai, lg semi, siemens, hitachi, ibm have all made big announcements on the rambus.
dell as usual is first with the best. the others will follow. they have to.
nice of edelstone at morgan stanley to give us a $150 share price, and he said he saw lots of room for upside from there.

Enjoying the posts on telecom and networking; learning lots, especially since on Friday, I became a LU shareholder (post Ascend). Always enjoy Mr. Fun's analyses.

Meanwhile, thought I'd share Unclewest's summary of the week's news on Rambus, as an FYI. Unclewest is a prolific scanner of the net for Rambus information; better than 10 librarians. .....Besides Dell, we now have discussion of Rambus memory in high-speed printers, and high definition TV.

rambus in dell workstations to ship this fall.

rambus in graphics cards in production.

rambus in copiers is coming.

rambus in hdtv may already be in production.

rambus in sony new playstation. confirmed september release in asia.
