Thomson news:
<<<The economic calendar heats up once again today with the May Durable
Goods report, last week's initial jobless claims, and the May Help
Wanted Index all slated for release. At 8:30 AM, the government will
release the data on durable goods orders for May - the Thomson Global
Markets (TGM) consensus forecast calls for an increase of 1.1%
compared to April's 2.3% decline in orders. Also at 8:30 AM, the
Labor Department will release the number of initial jobless claims for
the week ending June 19. The TGM consensus number estimates that
300,000 Americans filed first-time jobless claims last week compared
to 297,000 new claims in the prior week. At 10:00 AM, investors will
look to the results of the Help Wanted Index for further clues to the
state of the labor market. While there is no published consensus
forecast, investors will look to compare the report to last month's
reading of 87.>>>>
