How about this scenario (not exactly likely, I know):

Samsung buys a controlling part of AMD. Fires Sanders. Drops the AMD name and markets the K7 as an Alpha. Uses a fraction of their disposable cash to start building two more fabs (2billion a pop). Buys the Alpha development from CMPQ (if they are allowed to - I don't recall the specifics of the FTC agreement). Ramps up 21264/750 and K7 production (Alpha K7).

Sigh. At least Samsung would have a better size to take on Intel. And a better management (duh!).
