"chose" [past tense; not "choose"] Katherine; "fight back" is redundant Katherine (one who fights is already "fighting back"; surely a market "guru" should properly master the language Katherine. I hope someone proofreads your website. If you check the posts, the "ad hominems" were initiated by you; I only challenged your cry to "sell" tellabs. I didn't challenge your character. This "call" was totally "off base", especially with Tellabs earnings report forthcoming. Essentially the 7 weeks prior to most of the TLAB's reports has been the time to be "in" Tellabs, not "out of it. I am no market guru; rather, I'm just someone who has made a lot of money on Tellabs the past five years. If you had done likewise, I find it hard to believe you would not have recognized the buy and sell patterns. A "sell" of Tellabs, if one were a "trader" in the stock rather than a long term investor, might be more appropriate the night before the earnings report is issued, to wit: about 10 minutes before the close of trading; or, it would make sense during the first hour or two of trading the morning after the earnings report---this is when the usual "spike" occurs----but you must move fast before the "momentum" players sell their positions. P.S. Being no market "guru" I am allowed the luxury of misspelling, improper grammar, bad syntax, mixed analogies, and every mistake of the "great unwashed". It is so much nicer to be of little import; but, in the final analysis, the stock market is not a classroom in 18th Century Neo-Classicism; instead, fortunately, it is more "absolute"----less concerned with "how" a thing was said than the "truth" of the statement. Substance over style, one might say. And truly, with an advance to 69 3/4 and even today's subsequent retracement to 65+ validates the fact that your call was wrong. This is the wonderful thing about the market-----it values not style, but substance; it's not poetic, but rather prosaic; Tellabs is up not down----and the "bottom line" is what is of weight in this discussion, not the "person who said it". There is a spiritual principle which says that one should not be a "respecter of persons" (Ignacio de Loyola---17th century) . This means that the truth not the personage is central in any discussion; one should not pay deference to a lie (or error) due to the status of the person promoting the lie (or error). The truth, not the person should prevail. And the truth, plainly stated, is superior to error ensconced or couched in superfluous casuistry. In this case, the truth = Tellabs went "up" not "down" since the 57 mark. My intention was never to insult you. If I did, I apologize; now, let's get on with the discussion of Tellabs---not of each other's foibles. Respectfully, JoeJ
