Hi everyone, One thing about Brown&Co is that their money market rates are quite a bit lower than other brokerages. So, if you have a propensity for holding large cash positions, this might have an effect on your thinking.

Best regards, Tom

I just want you know that from my personal experience, I like Waterhouse better than E*trade. I am a customer of both online brokers. First, I have several times my limited sell order were filled on the highest quote of the day and my limited buy order were filled on the lowest quote of the day. Those are never happened at my E*trade account. That tells me that Watherhouse does not making money on 1/8 spread of the trading I made. I think most brokers do. My worst experience is with smith barney, my sell of MSFT at 90 was not executed when the highest quote of the day is 90 1/4. Second, most time, my calls to Waterhouse local branch are answered within 2-3 mins, where call to E*trade almost always on hold longer than 5 mins. Third, E*trade website most time is not accessible with Netscape browser after market hour, at least with the version I am using. It only works with MS explore, I found it out accidently when I try to access E*trade with MS explore at home. There is never such a problem in my Waterhouse account. Fourth, selling naked put is one of my trading style, E*trade has serious technical problem when your put was assigned. It will not show out in your account until settlement. I have to write E-mail or call them to find it out, There are never such problem in my Waterhouse account. Finally, commission is 65% cheap at Waterhouse, I never use market order. From banking side of service, I can not compare them since I do not use E*trade service on that part, only thing I can tell you that I am very happy with Waterhouse too. My salary is automatic deposit into my Waterhouse account, no fee using their ATM card (no include the charge of the owner of ATM machine) Banker's check Fedex to you with no charge. their visa card has 1% rebate, automatic withdraw of my regular expense such as mortgage and car payments, etc.. a lot of good staff. If you have not use those benefit, you may want to try. Anyway, I am not try to convince you not open your e*trade account, just want to say that people often time did not appreciate what they have got. I, except owning 400 shares of TWE through this IPO, have no other interest in Waterhouse, I does not work for them either.
