It is quite possible to arrange that. But it requires a domestic re-arrangement. If you could pair a short with large realized losses in bonds of holy matrimony with an internet company CFO with large in the money options, it could be lucrative for both, tax-wise. I wonder if I can start an internet match-making business to bring bears and bulls together for fun and profit.

Certainly my amzn long position is neither fun, nor profit.
