Tuck,

I think 9 is good support. For two reasons. First, way back when Individual Investor first put BTIM on the M25 list it moved up from about 17 (presplit numbers) to around 27 where it found strong resistance. I know this was over 2 years ago but that area of strong resistance should still tend to create congestion once that area is entered again. Secondly, from a chart-reading perspective, the area of consolidation that got taken out on monday showed a target of somewhere between 8 1/2 and 9. That does not mean that this will hold but it does usually mean that is where a bounce will happen. It seems as if this has happened with the slack volume.

BTW, if you ever visit the yahoo BTIM thread (if you can stomach the personal attacks and sophomoric banter) there is a fellow there who is very knowledgeable in the trading games played on the floor and how BTIM is frequently made to look purposefully weaker by certain MM's who print low bids and offers that suddenly disappear and never get filled but that do manage to scare many into selling or touch off those with tight stops.
