CC,
Possibly the general markets jitters are holding the OSX down. Plus the TA doesn't look that good on the charts, there is reason for concern. Additionally, since the API/DOE numbers have swung so much the last two weeks from one end to the other investors may figure next weeks numbers could be a negative impact, the swings seem to increase the odds of that, on top of which the FOMC on the 29th could be a fairly lethal combination?

Most of all though, I have been buying and that explains much<VBG>

re: <Why is the market being so short sighted?>

One needs to remember that most John Q. Public traders don't spend significant time investigating the companies they trade in. They follow the advice of the "experts" like Kudlow, Maxwell, and others. They don't realize that these guys have been dead wrong this year despite their clout and expertise.

Don't get Shook Out Commander

Having held FLC since the Cliffs aquisition, I've learned to take 20% dips as just a matter of course. For those like me with a cost basis significantly higher than today's price, the best advice is just to think longer term (at least a year) when we'll surely get out of this mess with a handsome profit. The daily tortured analysis on this thread of every little gyration, tick, and "wave" is great for the traders, but from my seat it's just a "little too much mustard on that hot dog".

FLC isn't going bankrupt - You know the saying... owe somebody a hundred bucks, you're their enemy... owe somebody a hundred million bucks, you're their best friend. OPEC has implemented a strategy that sure seems to be working from what I can see. I gotta hand it to them. Drilling activity and earnings in our sector will increase substantially, when?..... probably late Q3 and Q4.

I've lost more money churning my portfolio than any single "bad" entry point decision. It's so easy to trade these days. Have fun daytrading or short term playing with a little money, but don't get shook out of your core holdings.
