A popular term used around here is J6P or Joe-six-pack, referring to a set of supposidly lower class people who are gobbling up stocks. If it were so simple. I have talked to many intelligent, professional people who are the real suckers. J6P is a myth, the real gobblers are well paid working people with spare money to burn, not the six-pack consumers. These people are our brothers, sisters-in-laws, and barbeque party neighbors. They universally roll their eyes and guffaw when I tell them about market overvaluation. They haven't the vaguest idea of the black hole opening up before them.
