Yup, I was there. The house was full. They even had to bring in chairs. There were probably 50 or so folks. I didn't meet any Wavoids. Only two people left before the end of the presentation. I had to leave, but lots of folks rushed up to Steven to ask questions.

Steven radiates intelligence and has a solid knowledge of all they're doing.

The feeling I got was that the room was impressed, but they're still not totally understading what is about to be accomplished.

Here are a few highlights.

The float. One guy asked, if your intended installed base is 100MM and there's an average of $10.00 per user in float. Steven said, "pretty awesome, huh?"

WAVX's model was explained. Create a network of customers where the vehicle to bring content to the customer is not important. If you log onto Yahoo and IBM has a deal with Yahoo, your IBM PC will know Yahoo has a deal for you.

Steven is very very happy about two developments: Pheonix and AOL/Hughes. He could not overemphasize these developments to me. During the speech, he said that he can't comment about the relationship with AOL, but (paraphrasing) "AOL pretty much has to license Wave to sell cached content via Hughes".

About Phoenix, Steven says ultimately, Embassy will be between the bios and the processor.

A key question was "If PC OEMs want to make money from the customer and PC prices are going down, why would a PC OEM object? Who's saying "no"? Steven said, "We have not met an OEM who said no. The issue is getting the silicon".

The N*Able transaction will save 9 months of devleopment time.

The chip in the PCFREE computer will turn off the motherboard if the customer does not pay his bill. This is CRITICAL to the success of PCFREE, Steven said.

IBM is listed along with NEC and PCFREE in the computer partner section.

Look for massive deployment by Q4 2000 in OEMs, smaller deployment before that.

Steven offers to give Emasssy to Intel for FREE. If they put it in, great. So far, Intel is not going for it. But they're talking. (!)

So far, 35% users of Haup opened accounts, but some people have the Haup boards at home uninstalled. Average Wave account is about $50.00. He thinks lots of Wavoids are inflating that average a bit.

There's much more, but I'll leave it to others, I have to do some work.

Re deployment, Steven is confident the hardware partners know how to get their product to customers. Wave essentially piggybacks on that expertise.

I've never been more excited about the company. The potential is unlimited. Execution and deployment is the key.
