Actually, Christopher, this little excursion into the "separation of church and state" issue in the United States has proved helpful in my work on Chechnya. I have had the opportunity to pass on some of the info. I have collected to some visiting Chechens who are determined to preserve a secular state there, as against those who are trying to build an Islamic state. They were delighted. (The antis are as devout Muslims as the pros, BTW.) As for the name(s) I publish under, I will be coy. I have my reasons for being anonymous on SI. :-) Joan
