Corruption has only become a problem after 1978, the beginning of the "open-door" policy. Since China has never been a society ruled by law, and since the door has been wide-open, and a lot of "flies" (mainly produced by the capitalist society<g>) Yeah,Chinese government is tough on crime. People get death penalty for smuggling....VCRs,computers,etc.. I will probably get life in prison for illegal parking. No wonder there are few criminals because they are all dead or in prison. Well, it is your business just don't enforce it on me.
