Am I the only one who thinks that FGI is not a wise investment right now? -- except for those few who are adept at playing dead cat bounces?

The technical picture is ugly. I'd expect FGI to take some time to find a new base. Many who didn't get out at 16, then 15, then 14, are now looking for any tick up to sell. Shorts smell blood.

As for the fundamental picture, the backlog should be shrinking, the merger could weigh on near term profits, the man responsible for making FGI the "go to" yard has announced he will step down in two years (and there is a good chance he may want to reduce his sizeable holdings before then -- my speculation only).

Good luck, but buyer beware.
