MCOM will have a market cap of 600M in short order. How do I arrive at this? My prediction is based on a very similar stock that I missed out on. Lucent Technologies invested $1 billion in Winstar Communications not to long ago in the form of equipment they needed to provide their service. Winstar provides point to point broadband service for companies through land based transmissions avoiding the need for running cable. The stock traded at about $24 when the capital injection was announced. It subsequently doubled in less than a year. I see MCOM as a very similar story. In today :0).

When you add in the dilution from the Vulcan Venture/MCI WorldCom deal, the market cap works out to approximately $1.344 billion. As of April 23, 1999, there were 19,032,741 shares outstanding. The $600.0 MM buys 60 MM preferred shares, each of which is convertible into one share of common stock. (19,032,771 + 60,000,000) times $17/share = $1.344 billion.
