These biventricular pacemaker devices have been in development for awhile, like LVADs. I have a market report on them at home, and can post some information later tomorrow or over the weekend. I recall that they target earlier stage heart failure than do the LVADs and hence will not directly compete for some time to come. Eventually they likely will, but there are unfortunately more than enough patients to go around for both types of technologies. So, to answer your question, I do not believe this news release would have much effect on WHT.

Any speculation as to whether World Heart's share price will mimic St Jude's as World Heart approaches their first implant?
