That's exactly the point I was trying to make!
It's kinda like growing mushrooms, most of the growth is underground and never seen. They've spawned a lot of good people into the world of diamonds, but they've also hung on to a lot. I don't know if it can be seen from space but their tentacles cover a significant portion of the earth, and like all megacreatures it may appear to move slowly but don't even think of trying to interfere with it.
