GSTRF Up 14% yesterday and another 10% today in a down market. Called yesterday on the thread. DPRC ex-earnings play very nearly doubling today. This is why I advocate the following of earnings plays for more than just the pop. DPRC was a good one and it was the second time an earnings play in last 2 quarters. Last quarter it gave 20% gain. Of course it was acquired today, and no way of knowing that in advance but if you owned it you won.

Nope SCH was not an earnings play but MWD was and although it triggered a buy signal so did 3 others from my watch list I didn't enter. I did enter other stocks earlier when the market was in rally mode but MWD was not up more than just fractionally. Within a few minutes the brokerages were down and I jumped into SCH puts, Now SCH is down 3 11/16 but the MWD is only down 1. Might just about face if the market turns more positive, as I feel it will, and go long on MWD after I sell the SCH puts. It doesn't always work out that well. I was looking to get into the PVN puts when the stock was down 1 9/16 but I left the decision too long and now PVN is down 5 3/16 and I'm not in. I lost my 10 calls of MU that are basically worthless now. Sometimes you have to pull the trigger quickly or you miss out, but if you are not sure, its best to remain on the sidelines. I traded the brokerages and PVN probably 100 times this year both long and short, I'm used to them
