Scott:It is not about whether MS will lose dominance or not (they won't in the foreseeable future) but rather it is about a viable alternative and Linux offers a viable alternative to many in the Server/Workstation segment,at least Linux is creating enough noise to worry Microsoft.If I remember correctly Dell just shipped close to a 1000 machines to Brulington Coat Factory with Linux,who would have thought that a few years ago.

Limits of Linux passion.

Here is an interesting article on Linux.

..My Linux passion is symptomatic of why Linux is growing as quickly as it is. International Data Corp. suggests it's growing faster than all other operating systems combined. But operating systems can't live on passion alone......

..Linux will never take over the world. But it will make a lot of systems administrators, hackers and me very happy. If I can ever get the damn thing to install properly. ....
