As noted last Aug Message 5439092, the selection of oral or topical Targretin wasn't clear from talking to IR. They were shooting for the end of '98 / beginning of '99 at that time. Since they made their prediction in 2H 98 and the filing was in 1H 99, it doesn't seem that the filing was all that late (and recently they did put their target date in writing, by saying the filing would be in 1H '99.) They did hit the "beginning of 1999" even if it was very near the end of the beginning.
