CSFB raises outlook for S&P 500 earnings:

NEW YORK, June 28 (Reuters) - Credit Suisse First Boston said Monday it raised its earnings outlook for Standard & Poor's 500 companies for 1999 and 2000.

-- According to a note by chief investment strategist Christine Callies, the 1999 earnings estimate now stands at $48.03 a share, up from $47.33 previously. the 2000 estimate was raised to $51.39 a share from $49.22.

-- Callies cited the revival in Asian economies sooner than expected, and a rebound in energy prices.

-- Target for the S&P 500 Index for the first half of the year 2000 is 1540.
