AMD has Cu and Al 0.18u processes. My understanding is that you don't need a different layout when you go from Al to Cu (please correct me if I am wrong). I used the "optical shrink" terminology when referring to the move from 0.25u 6 metal to 0.18u 6 metal. I don't know if AMD is changing the layout or not. I hope someone can explain.
