patents don't matter, collaborative filtering is a term used to describe how peoples' preferences are determined, recorded analyzed.

this is usually done with the idea of providing a value proposition before they leave a website

think of a realtime reporting engine connected with a webserver, tied into a call centre

that's it...but why be so dramatic about it?
just a thought
ynot :)

<<Check out the patents on collaborative filtering. Do they own the patents? I was told they don't. Could be potential patent infringement issues!>>

Shelfware: I think you're jumping to conclusions about potential patent infringement issues. Have you read NETP's prospectus? Do you actually think someone as bright as Steven Snyder (NETP's CEO who used to work for Bill Gates) would neglect to take care of protecting NETP's intellectual property..? Why would Paul Allen's Vulcan Ventures own 10% of Net Perceptions if there might be critical "patent infringement issues"? I don't think you have done your homework and of course you haven't revealed the sources for your information. Lots of folks on lots of investing message boards (like SI, Yahoo, Raging Bull) are often told lots of things. As investors if we can't trust you as a messenger, why would we trust your message <G>?

I have confidence in the NETP management.

Best Regards,

Scott
