I keeping here references to a history he doesn't want the press to go into (as if that isn't an open invitation), but I haven't heard the specifics.

Mike, It has nothing to do with the fact that there are skeletons. It has to do with saying you are a crime fighter when you have a history of doing the very things you claim you are fighting. Sorta like Robin Williams doing anti-drug campaigns or OJ doing seminars on communicating with your spouse. I am glad you have had alot of success following his picks. Which service do you subscribe to: his $950/year service, his $4,150/year service or his $10,000/year service?
