TSO,

I placed a small bet on LTXX last week @ 10.25 after watching
it for too long.

Haven't heard "resaca" in a while. I think San Benito may
have been called The Resaca City in the old days. (For the
uninitiated a resaca is a narrow pond that was once part of
a river system, the Rio Grande in this case.)

Another famous singer, Bill Haley (Rock Around The Clock)
spent his last years in nearby Harlingen. And Jess Neely,
the Rice University coach, retired in Weslaco. The list of
famous people to live in the Valley is pretty short, I guess.
It's rather remote from the 'civilized' world, but it's always
been a pleasant place with a unique personality.

Speaking of Rickie Martin, just heard that he's in downtown Toronto today on a promo--sounds as though the adoring young fans of the female persuasion may not allow him to leave town...intact.<ggg>
