BT's Newman to leave Deutsche Bank AG -- WSJ
NEW YORK, June 25 (Reuters) - Frank Newman, who was chairman of Bankers Trust Corp (NYSE:BT - news)., is expected to leave his new executive position at Deutsche Bank AG (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: DBKG.F) just weeks after Bankers Trust was sold to the German bank for $9 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.
Citing people familiar with the matter, the paper said that Newman met in Paris on Thursday with Deutsche Bank chairman Rolf Breuer and an announcement was expected early next week.
It is unclear what nonexecutive role, if any, Newman may continue to play at the bank, the Journal said,. But even if he leaves entirely, he could still receive a financial package estimated at as much as $100 million.(cont)
