after reading that electric utilities are in bull alert status at 44%. i screened them earlier today with these results:

RS=BUY, Column=X - AES, CPN
RS=BUY, Column=O - REI, PE, OTTR, ORU, MTP, AWK, MTP, MEC
RS=SELL, Column=X - TNP, NU, CER, KEP, EUA

since these may be only suitable for a y2k themed stock contest, (if they're still up and running jan 1, you win), i'm listing them here for those in the cheap seats who may have read the "from the analyst" commentary on promising sectors, and with thanks to those who continue to teach me to not only look at--but measure--the leap.

It's going to take me a while to do the sifting. I am not used to thinking for a 2 mo time span so that adds a weird dimension to the problem. As an initial swag I entered these:

short: CS, OXHP, WIND
long: PETM, PRGN, SPTR

There are lots of great picks out there so I'll probably refine these if I have time over the next few days.

Jan, are you able to set parameters as follows:

Long Candidates: Sector recently turned Buy, Chart close to Bottom of trading range, Chart just gave Buy signal.

Short Candidates: Sector recently turned Sell, Chart close to Top, Chart just gave Sell signal.

If so, could you do for me? Thanks.

Thanks,

Tulvio
