I paid $200 for my QCP860 yesterday from Airtouch in Detroit. The retail price was $300 and I only got the $100 discount after much complaining and calls to customer service. I had to replace a stolen phone so I didn't have an old phone to get the "migration" discount.

I've also seen the QCP860 on the Airtouch website for $99 with service subscription.

As for the QCP "Smartphone". I talked with a women at Airtouch last week who had just gone through training on the phone. She said that Airtouch would have it available around October and that they wouldn't be offering full service capabilities on it at first.

I hounded Airtouch via email and voice for three weeks trying to nail down when the Thin phone would be available. The best advice I got from the customer service folks was to call a local dealer and ask for a service technician. It seems that they are the first ones to know when a product will be available. The sales people are worthless in that area.

Two weeks ago the local branch salesperson said that the QCP860 wouldn't be available for a month or so. Yesterday I bought it from them.

FWIW
