Richard,

I run two WOW systems - one with an S&P Comstock dish feed driving a Pentium III, and another on a laptop, with data coming in off a fractional T1 Frame Relay line, distributed locally over an Ethernet.

The Comstock Satellite-driven WOW system is the most similar to configuration you describe. I have never had a problem over with data from the dish, although I know that can be an issue (I had to go to a special "fast" high-speed serial card when I was driving Tradestation off of a BMI dish 3 years ago). However the newer serial port controllers seem to be less prone to data loss, although they're still rated at the same max data rate (115kbps).

The only place I'm having problems is on the laptop WOW system, with the data coming in over the internet... I have done some testing localizing it to their servers (vs. my ISP, router, or LAN) but they staunchly deny they have a server problem. I've even logged in with different connections to different ISP's... it is still a problem in a fast market. I think most people who aren't day-trading on 1min charts intensely, in a fast market (e.g. most of their customers) would never notice this.

And, with the same internet connection and laptops running QCharts, haven't noticed any problems at all. Haven't had a truly fast market yet, though.

Anyway, I have replaced the laptop WOW system with QCharts. What a remarkable improvement - WOW! ;)

Thanks, -Steve
