<<<Everybody came and gone but Microsoft withstood. So what should AOL
do when Microsoft is investing every where to strengthen its grip despite its war with DOJ?>>>>>
I think AOL is doing exactly the same thing, expanding into wireless, E-commerce, etc. They just have far less cash!!!

<<So this deal having impact on Microsoft is all but pure conjecture
and will have zero effect on Microsoft's bottom line.>>

I think the point as it relates to MSFT is that the market is demostrating that MSFT does not have a monopoly in operating software. (Preditory practices may be a different story.)

<<AOL is in desperate mode to establish its "AOL everywhere" strategy.
Furthermore, DELL, Gateway and all leading PC makers are leaning towards becoming an ISP and they are in good terms with Microsoft.>>>

Desperate would have been getting into a bidding war with T over cable cos. I also believe Dell announced recently they will be preloading Linux, could be to take the heat off MSFT w/ DOJ. Mike D. and Bill must be good friends.<gg>

So what will happen to AOL unless it starts threatening their turf or
exploit their vulnerability?
IMHO it will not have any effect on Microsoft's current business and practice and that is what DOJ is after.

Many say a break-up could be a boon to investors.
