III went through a phase of reading Harlequins! It was after we moved from Louisiana to Virginia, and I had finished law school but wasn't a member of the Virginia bar and couldn't pay off Tulane so they wouldn't send my grades to Virginia, and I couldn't take the bar and I couldn't get a job. So I was home with the kiddies all day long out in suburbia, Chris was making $27,000 and our rent was $900 and we were dirt poor. One car, a clunker, that Chris drove to the metro. No TV. I couldn't concentrate on fine literature. And I had this crazy idea of writing them because several local ladies were featured in the local papers as writers of said genre. I kinda liked them. The red ones were the sexy ones, I liked those best.
