People living in the States might not have a clear view of the international potential of internet. This will be huge. I see that GNET will expand to all major languages and covering all stock markets.

The message board technology can be used for many more topics than just stocks. E.g. they can become an OEM supplier for corporate intranets, replacing some of Lotus Notes functionality.

100Hot show already the hit list for 8 countries. If they get list with the hotlist of 100 countries by the end of the year, then they will be at least in the top 10.

In Chile, there is an incredible attention for the Internet. It is in the newspapers everyday. All major companies are setting up web sites.

Two months ago the first online broker started.
cb.cl its value went up 400% in 40 days.

I opened an EGRP account directly in the USA. Wired money. Bought stocks within 4 days. Before I had to buy stocks via my Dutch bank @150 dollars per trade. If you wanted to trade from Chile you needed to buy at least US 10.000. Getting a global stockmarket will increase liquidity. Will increase mergers. Will create really global companies. Internet = leverage + marginal cost almost zero

How will it be in 2005
EGRP 10.000.000 accounts worldwide.
SI 2.500.000 members.

So we better have fun now on the board, because in the future you will have to wade through the messages. CNOLT is right. We should try to restrict ourselves and post only high value posts. But sometimes it is partytime.

I came across SI via a search which brought me to a post of somebody. I became member in July and first was only on the SAP board. Michelle Harris and LindyBill (Gorilla Millionaire) left after the stock split and I went down from 60 to 24. No fun. Then I bought some Inets in April and was looking two weeks ago to minus 38% in my portfolio. No fun. So as the others, I felt much better this week and it was reason to party. But I'm sure GNET will go tenfold again in the next 5 years.

I got already 3 friends in Chile on SI and Jill is sending me some T-shirts so I will continue to market the company. I have done some searches on personal profiles of people and there are already quite a number of international SI members. I will ask Bryan some statistics.
