I've just been looking at this week's ComputerWorld. On page 4 is an article that says (I paraphrase) Home Depot is considering replacing Windows 95 with Linux on about 90,000 PC's it uses to run its stores. Windows is too hard to manage, and NT is too expensive. Microsoft's uncertain commitment to Java (in which HD's apps are written) also is affecting the decision.

I imagine the article is also in their online edition.

Don't tell me, ... tell EBAY about fault tolerant Sun configs. Seems they take a 3-5 million dollar ding every year because of a crash so maybe it's about time Sun helped them out?
