I am looking for the perfect stock to add to my portfolio so I can invest my savings with confidence and safety in hopes of someday retiring with $1mm.
I feel the stock should have the following qualities:
1. It should consistently end the year at a higher price than at the beginning, yet drop substantially once or twice a year for reasons not related to company performance so I can invest more funds.
2. It should be a widely held company with a stock price between $10 and $99 a share so there is a ready market for the stock.
3. It should grow at rate greater than 90% of other equities, or somewhat over 30% a year
4. It should be in a rapidly growing field yet have less than 20% of the market share so there is plenty of room to grow.
5. It should have a reputation for surviving price wars and cut-throat competition and for making wise use of company funds..
6. It should be a globally expanding company bringing new product to the rapidly-growing technology markets that open up.
7. It should have clearly defined company goals and work closely with customers so use of the product will be beneficial and cost saving to both the producer and consumer.
8. It should stay focused in its field of expertise and grow organically instead of taking the risk of buying entire other companies .
9. Most employees should be of a young age ( rather than re-trainees) so that health and medical costs are at a minimum and many years of productivity are available before retirement age.
10. Employees should be shareholders so they too can profit by implementing cost-saving habits and relate to the success of the company. Work tasks or assignments should be rotated to relieve
boredom and challenge the minds of workers.
11. It should have a major stock buy-back program in place and no major debts which could make the company beholden to banks or subject to unknown rate changes.
12. It should have a young , inspiring , respected, clear speaking leader with ability to elucidate and translate vision into reality.
Maybe Chuzz would know of a company to recommend which has these characteristics.(G)

Tommy, thanks for answering my two questions. I share your feelings on these two matters. Well, Tue and Wed are now getting close, so we will know how this works out in the next few days.

I hope you decide to stay with this thread. I enjoy your postings and think you are an asset to all of us.

Lets hope we have a good investing day today. I have a feeling that many stocks are poised for a significant rally, assuming the markets cooperate. I see Dell and Aol wanting to "take off".
