limtex, that is the idea to scare everyone to death so that the market drops 3,000 points. It does upset me a little that people keep giving the Fed the credit for this fantastic period of growth but IMHO this is mainly due to the likes of MSFT, INTC, CSCO, the telecom companies, the biogen companies, the wireless companies and latetly the Internet. The Fed didn't invent these things and the Chairman has said that he doesn't really understand what is happening.

This technological revolution gives of wealth in a way that the Chairman ought to understand it ie the old fashioed wway...they earned it. Putting up interest rates gives people the opportunity to make money the new way, to get real interest way over the rate of inflation for no risk.....ie by not earning it. Now thats the way to put an end to nine years of growth in a big hurry.

I disagree with you. That fed does not want to end this bull market. Those stories of many rate increases are coming from rumor mongers who are trying their best to spook the market to help their trades.
This fear has not hit the market---just check the trading volume. Greenspan will be cautious in his moves. He has nothing to gain by spooking the market. Watch them (rumor mongers) close those positions as we get closer to interest rate announcement. Ahead of the announcement, we will see a rally.

I saw an interview on TV yesterday---some manager from PIMCO. I had seen him a few months ago when he said bonds would be going higher. He was asked if the yield has bottomed out. He says basically it has or is almost there. This guy was accurate months ago. I found him to be logical.

I am just getting ready for a big runup in the market--into mid July.

Good Luck with your investments.
