**OT**Ian,

Yes, CAT means POWER ... and they got bigger last year ... as they were kind enough to buy the Perkins Diesel business (Buffalo, NY ... small to medium horsepower engines) from my Lucas Varity before TRW finished the job ...

Did CAT send you a gift certificate for a CAT/Tonka truck with your annual? If not, they should ... I heard that Komatsu will give you replicas of their entire lineup if you give them a call ... <g>

Much to my surprise with the first annual report received, CAT is in the power generation
business. From diesel generators suitable for a home right up to generating power for major
corporate users or cities in developing countries.

Diesel generators might make an interesting technology play. As more and more commerce moves to the web, more and more ecommerce sites are going to co-location facilities. The first thing on my list when we were looking for a 7x24 facility was diesel generator backed power. Could be a growing business there over the next few years.
