Now I'm tearing up. That was beautiful.

I had a puppy, well to me he was a puppy, that was so beautiful and sweet. He developed a back problem and was in such terrible pain. I couldn't stand it. Making a decision seemed impossible for me but I did. I miss Seth very much and sometimes call my new puppy Sammie by her brothers name... Seth.

It's the same thing with my Mom. It's been 5 years and I still reach for the phone to call her.

They are never forgotten.

<<You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him/her in your arms and
embrace. Your face is kissed again, again, and again and you look once more into the eyes of your
trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.>>

As a child, we always had kitties and dogs. My Daddy just loved his dogs. When he died, I wondered if those pets we had were waiting up there for their "Poppy". when Legato died, someone gave this to us also.

I shared it with my Mom who was as much an animal lover as the rest of us. A couple of days before she died, we were having some conversation...the kind you hold on to forever cause you know you won't get another chance. And this came up. She was in such pain....but said that she would be so happy to see Hilda, Tommy, Jimmy, Tootsie, Penny, etc.

We have a vet that said a prayer before he put Princess to sleep and I asked him about this amid the incredible tears. He said that God promises that we will be given the joys of our hearts in heaven.

If you ever have opportunity, take your pets to be blessed on the Feast of St. Francis. Or just attend.....its heartwarming.
