I'm just not quite clear on what your referring to. On the CS chart the only bullish engulfing patterns occurred in late April and mid May and in fact CS continued up nicely.

Remember an "engulfing" pattern has to encompass the entire real body.

A bullish pattern, the current up day completely encompasses the previous down day. Real body to real body...ignore the wicks (shadows).

A bearish pattern, the current down day completely encompasses the previous up day.

Maybe the colors I'm using on my charts are adding to the confusion...?

Things actually get a bit more complicated in that the signals alter depending on the previous trend...but I'm trying to avoid getting too much into that right now.
