Uh...oh. Duh! I agree with your assesment that this give core routing a stronger footing. Coupled with the JNPR IPO this is a good day for CSCO. They are dictating the battle. At the same time it's good for LU as well because any churn in the carrier market is goodness for the networkers all around. These moves signal to the carriers that next generation products are where the industry is moving and if they want to remain competitive they will need to get there first. I like what I see. Everyone should have a strong LU, CSCO position in their portfolios. A little NT, JNPR for fun and then a few speculative takeover targets... Anyone care to offer the favorites. I'm still wondering where COMS ends up in all this. I still think they should sell their NIC's to INTC and take the palm division partially public...and downsize by ridding themselve of the modem business. ANyone else with thoughts?
