tmoney, could you explain what the 3% is all about? I'm not familiar with some of this. Thanks.

Tmoney, They may have some competition for available shares. I just heard short interest is up 14.2% to 2,146,000. Someone suggested there's been a strategy to short more to hold market cap down to keep it out of the Russel, since evaluation criteria includes market cap.

Will it feel like time to cover if a major contract is announced?
IMO it might be prudent to add a few shares ahead of the "almost 900,000 shares to buy", especially before the addition to the index is confirmed.

Regards from FMK

The subject of VLNC being included in the Russell 2000 was discussed on this thread recently, within the last 2-3 weeks I believe. At that time, if my memory serves me correctly, the story was presented as a "would" not a "might". Sorry I can't be more helpful with regards to the timing.

TMoney: As another threadster has pointed out, this has been discussed. BUT, from what I gather the Russell Index does a yearly "sweep" of the companies covered, and during this sweep they decide to either keep, remove, or add such companies as they feel meet(or no longer meet) their requirements.

How this is actually accomplished, from what I gather, is that there is a preliminary "cut", and those that survive the cut go on to a final decision to either be included, or excluded, in the new yearly Index. This final decision is June 30th. You'll be happy to know that VLNC has made the preliminary cut(see this URL):

The final decision on whether VLNC is included will occur on June 30th. Need I say wouldn't it be nice???? ;-)
