Yes indeed, if one were a trader & took profits, that is the entire point of trading. Don't get me wrong, if trading is your bag, go for it baby I don't give a damn. As far as I'm concerned everyone is free to try to make money any legal way they can. Personally, I like the long term Rambus story, but what is right for me, is only for me.

This sell-off seems obvious:

The rumor that was discussed on the thread earlier in the week, had Jeff Vinik accumulating shares. These were trading shares.
1. small amount of shares outstanding.
2. low float.
3. at the time approx. 6.1 million in short interest.
4. many weak holders, with 0 news.
Effectively squeezed the short interest down 27%--to 4.4 mil, thus driving the stock price from it's entrenchement at 84-86 to upward of 100. Volume has been drying up, so the upward momentum had halted. This would be Mr. Vinik cue to sell. This will shake more weak hands--but should be an excellent window for purchase.

VT
