Actually, AOL's recent hookup with Hughes is a bit contradictory to VOIP. Sat links introduce an unacceptable amount of "latency" into real time phone conversations. Coupled with the latency introduced by the voice coder/decoder, the echo canceller, and windows itself, a sat link VOIP call would be a really yucky half duplex "push the button to talk" kind of experience.
