You comment that WEBTV was a flop because of MSFT's poor execution. Not a first. Don't expect the same from AOL. These guys are not programmers

I hate to point it out to you but MSFT has 40% net profit margins--profit, not operating margins--compared to AOL's 12% if it's lucky. I would suggest that those programmers know more about making a buck than almost any tech company on the planet and that WEBTV was a flop not because of a bunch of techies who didn't know how to do business but lack of demand, sort of the Eight-track of the web.

BTW, it's my understanding that the Hughes system is wide bandwidth satellite downlink with interactivity by phone line, a sort of hybrid that presents problems of its own.

But that AOLPC idea--that actually brings in new customers.
